DISEASE REPORTING
Healthcare providers and clinical laboratories in Boston are required to report all suspected or diagnosed communicable disease cases; specimens that have tested positive for certain communicable diseases; and animal bites to the Boston Public Health Commission. Infectious disease research labs that work with specified high risk agents are required to report all illness, exposure or absenteeism among staff members. Completed reporting forms should be faxed to (617) 534-5905. For more information, all residents and healthcare providers can call our 24/7 disease reporting line, (617) 534-5611.
Cases of HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis (disease or latent infection) should be reported directly to Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Click Here.
