Description: The Boston CCR Grant seeks to award funding to Boston Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) who are leading and implementing work to engage CHWs in one or more of the Boston neighborhoods hit hardest by COVID-19: Dorchester, East Boston, Hyde Park, Mattapan and or Roxbury. This funding opportunity will be accompanied by inclusion in a learning collaborative consisting of other awardees along with BPHC-employed CHWs. Learning collaborative participants will convene to share resources and explore best practices for supporting and utilizing CHWs.

BPHC is seeking to partner with community-based organizations that could use funding to further their existing health equity work or that are prepared to develop a new program. The Centers for Disease Control define health equity as an achievement that is reached when every person can attain their full health potential. While different health outcomes will persist, health equity is reflected when individuals' health potential is not predetermined by social circumstances. Projects that seek to improve economic stability, advance educational opportunities, advance healthcare quality, and address the neighborhood context are all welcome health equity projects.

In June 2020, Racism was declared a Public Health Crisis in the City of Boston, and the Boston Public Health Commission along with other City departments were charged with executing 8-strategies to combat the root causes of structural racism. The BPHC solicited community input on how to implement these strategies. Several themes emerged, one being the need to provide direct assistance to residents of color most affected by the financial strains of COVID-19.We are seeking to partner with community-based organizations that can redistribute direct assistance in the form of gas cards to their clients/residents.

This RFP seeks a BPHC partner to conduct routine monitoring of SARS-CoV-2 RNA levels in wastewater. Our wastewater surveillance partner would implement a well-documented wastewater surveillance program with state-of-the-art sampling and analytical methods. The partner would utilize robust reproducible approaches and technologies that have been evaluated by federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, wastewater utilities, academic researchers, and industry.
